English Practicum: Speaking Session on “Describing Object” Engages First-Year English Students

The first-year students of the English Study Program enthusiastically participated in an English Practicum Speaking session with the topic “Describing Object.” The activity was guided by Ms. Leni and Ms. Etika, who served as tutors and facilitators during the session.

The practicum aimed to help students improve their speaking skills, particularly in describing various objects accurately and creatively in English. Throughout the session, students practiced identifying objects and expressing their characteristics such as color, shape, size, function, and material.

Under the guidance of the tutors, the students engaged in interactive speaking exercises, group discussions, and short presentations. The atmosphere was lively and supportive, encouraging everyone to speak confidently and apply descriptive vocabulary in real-time communication.

According to Ms. Leni, the session was designed not only to build students’ vocabulary but also to enhance their fluency and confidence in speaking English. Meanwhile, Ms. Etika emphasized the importance of active participation and consistent practice to master effective communication skills.

By the end of the practicum, students expressed their excitement and satisfaction, saying that the session was both fun and educational. The activity successfully created an engaging learning experience that motivated students to keep improving their speaking abilities.
